CPTED is an approach to crime and violence prevention that focuses on improving the design of the built environment to help reduce opportunities for disputes and violence and promote positive behavior. Throughout this course you will learn some key components in how to use the environment to reduce the risk of crime in your organization.

Art Hushen is a retired thirty-year law enforcement officer who was instrumental in the creation of the Tampa Police Department’s CPTED Unit. He is President/Owner of the National Institute of Crime Prevention, a global training and consulting company specializing in Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design.
