Hospitals often face challenges in their efforts to comply with the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA). This webinar will provide a basic overview on EMTALA applicability and will dive into the history and nuances of the 250-yard rule, while also providing a litigation update of recent cases highlighting some of these challenges – including a Louisiana-based “reverse” EMTALA claim litigated by the presenters.

Amy Lambert is an attorney with more than 25 years of experience in trial litigation. She has represented physicians, hospitals, clinics and nursing homes in malpractice suits as well as tort and commercial claims. She has also successfully defended numerous private companies.

Adam Thames

Adam Thames is a Partner at Taylor Porter and a member of the Firm’s Health Care Practice Team. He devotes a significant portion of his practice to representing physicians, hospitals, nurses and other healthcare providers in medical malpractice and other professional liability claims.
