Exam Preparation & Curriculum

Preparation

Eligibility for the exam is determined by a candidate’s professional experience and educational background. There are no mandatory training courses or programs required prior to taking the exam. The HSLP certification program is designed as a self-directed study process.

To support preparation, an outline of key concepts, topics, and principles is publicly available. All eligible candidates receive access to the LHATF Learning Management System (LMS) called Center for Healthcare Enterprise Risk (CHER), which provides supplemental study resources. For non-LHATF members, this access is granted for six months—the duration of the certification process.

Candidates should note that CHER resources are optional and intended solely as supplemental materials. Use of these resources does not guarantee a passing score, nor does it make the exam easier, less costly, or confer any advantage. A comprehensive study approach using multiple resources is strongly recommended.
